Inspiration destinations: Art Select Marble

To mark the launch of our new Art Select Stones collection in the UK, we’ll be taking you on a journey through our inspiration destinations – so you can discover just where we found the original stones that inspired our latest designs. This month, we’re leading with the latest trend for marble in the home.

Understated and classic, our Fiore and Otono marble stones are the epitome of elegance, reflecting the true beauty and luxury of real marble.

Inspired by the natural white and blue-grey marble quarried in the Province of Massa, Tuscany, they are available in 16” square tiles or 16” clipped corner tiles with complementary key squares.

Design tip – Pair up our beautiful Fiore and Otono stones (shown above) and create a striking on-trend chequerboard design for a statement look.

For a modern twist on Art Deco design, consider using our clipped corner stone tile format with matching key squares (as below). There’s also the option to go one step further with a complementary diamond border.

In sharp contrast to our classic marble designs, Ashford stands out from the crowd and takes its inspiration from an unworked piece of Ashford black marble unearthed during excavation work in Ashford-in-the-Water, Derbyshire in 2009.

One of a kind and not a true marble in the geological sense, Ashford (pictured below) is referred to as marble, however the rock is of purely sedimentary origin. What’s more, this stone has been designed in a unique random panel format for a truly authentic look.

Design tip – Look to team the discreet acid marble effects of this stone with bright and contemporary colours and accessories.

    • Marblelous – love it! :) As specialists in luxury vinyl flooring, we do not produce cork tiles, however, we are aware of the benefits. Although cork floor tiles are warm and easy to clean if varnished, Karndean flooring is also warm underfoot and very easy to clean without being varnished as it is already protected by a PU coating. Karndean flooring is also very durable and also suitable for under floor heating, which cork is not. Cork tiles can also expand and contrast with changing temperatures, whereas once Karndean’s installed, there are no fluctuations – it’s there to stay. Hope this helps!

  1. We have karndean in our kitchen and utility and absolutely love it. Is it suitable for a cloakroom and bathroom?
