A big thank you to everyone who nominated causes in our ‘40 Free Floors for 40 Good Causes’ appeal last month. Once again, we received some truly inspirational stories from the UK, USA and Australia and New Zealand.
Don’t worry, there’s still time for you to get involved. We have 12 floors left to give away and are now accepting nominations for April. All you need to do is submit a name and a reason why your nominated cause should be considered.
Remember, all nominations from previous months will be taken forward, so there’s still a chance your cause will be chosen by our judges.
Check out last month’s winners and their stories below…
From the UK, the Vale of Evesham School. Nominated by Jude Jackson, Vale of Evesham School is a specialist school for cognition and learning – enabling inclusion within the community for children aged from 2 – 19 years old. A long standing employee of the school, Jude felt the school deserved a Karndean floor to update its sixth form area into a homely and special area for the young adults who use the space.
Our USA winner, Glencoe Fire Department, has been successfully nominated by Shane Green. A group of volunteers, the Glencoe Fire Department are dedicated to saving lives and properties in the community of Glencoe. Shane nominated the department to help transform its training room into a community centre.
And finally, Leanne McPherson from Australia, was nominated by close family friend Chris Doulis, to receive a free Karndean floor for their family home. As a full time foster carer, Leanne has opened up her home to numerous foster children, providing a loving and caring environment. As the family are in the middle of renovating their home, Chris felt they would benefit from an extra helping hand.
Congratulations to all our winners! Don’t forget to nominate in this month’s appeal by 30th April.
