A big thank you to all who have nominated in our ‘40 Free Floors for 40 Good Causes’ appeal in February. It’s been another bumper month for nominations and once again, we’ve received some truly inspirational stories from the UK, USA and Australia and New Zealand.
Don’t worry, there’s still time for you to get involved. We have 15 floors left to give away and are now accepting nominations for March’s draw. All you need to do is submit a name and a reason why your nominated cause or person should be considered.
Remember, all nominations from previous months will be taken forward, so there’s still a chance your cause will be chosen by our judges.
Check out last month’s winners and their stories below…
From the UK, the Acquired Brain Injury Education Service (ABIES). Nominated by Peter Gordon, ABIES specialises in rehabilitation for people living with an acquired brain injury and development through education for students. A trustee of the charity, Peter nominated ABIES after experiencing first-hand the excellent rehabilitation provided by the service following a stroke at 34 years old.
Our USA winner, Adelphoi Nellie Briles, has been successfully nominated by John Rusbosin. A non-profit child agency, Adelphoi provides care to over 2,500 young people every year through group homes, foster care/adoptive services, education, mental health services, in-home services and aftercare.
And finally, Carlos Banzon from Australia, was nominated by his daughter Jessica to receive a free Karndean floor for the family home. As a full time carer for his wife Zanita, who has recently been diagnosed with a rare case of Alzheimer’s disease, Carlos is currently in the process of renovating their family home to accommodate his wife’s needs.
Congratulations to all our winners! Don’t forget to nominate in this month’s appeal by 31st March.
