Giving back to Safe@Last

You may recall our judges selecting SAFE@LAST as our first good cause to reward as part of our ’40 Free Floors for 40 Good Causes’ Facebook appeal.

We were tasked with refurbishing the charity’s refuge, which provides short term, safe and confidential accommodation for children and young people aged 16 years and under.

Joining forces with local retailer, Rotherham based Wendy’s Carpets and Curtains, we successfully replaced existing, dated carpet with our Art Select HC02 Morning Oak in the kitchen, hallway, living and dining areas, Van Gogh VGW85T French Oak in all three bedrooms and Da Vinci SS6 Cotswold Stone in the bathroom.

Here’s what SAFE@LAST’s Tracy Haycox MBE, director of children and young people’s services had to say…

“We’re totally overwhelmed by the generosity of Karndean’s 40 Free Floors for 40 Good Causes appeal, and of course absolutely thrilled with our brand new floors.

“It’s so important for our refuge to provide a safe, clean and inviting environment for children and young people who find themselves in difficult situations, where they come into our protection to escape the risk they face at home.”
